September 9 - D day
Thousand year old eggs are duck eggs that have been preserved in ash and slat for one hundred days. This traditional Chinese delicacy is a common dish known as pidan. The egg whites will turn a dark grey color giving it an ancient appearance. An acquired taste, the eggs have a strong salty flavor.
