March 7 - Gross Fact

I'll stick with fresh mushrooms...


Maggots are tiny fly larvae. They are a wormlike feeding form that hatches from the egg of many insects that feast on rotting foods. The US Food and Drug Administration legally allow 19 maggots and 74 mites in a 2.5 ounce can of mushrooms.
