First maggots and now leeches!

Leeches have been used in medicine for thousands of years. Their medical use waned toward the end of the 19th century. Now they are making a return. Leeches have been used in reconstructive surgery to stimulate circulation when blood flow is critical in reattaching extremities like fingers, eyelids and ears.
