Our library and place where kids come to learn, read, create, play games and code. We tend to be a little loud and like to have fun while promoting problem solving and critical thinking skills. Come join us for lunch!

Sci fi, fantasy, realistic fiction - Oh my!

We have started our library reorganization by genre. Boy what a journey this is turning out to be. We have set our genres, bought different colored spine labeled tape and set up our catalog. Now the real fun begins - trying to fit a book in a genre...

Some books encompass multiple genres, where is the best place to put them? We have struggled with the question and have decided to look through the lens of our students - where would they look for them? We have also found that you cannot judge a book by its cover! Sometimes a cover look one way but the story is well a different story... kind of like people. How many times do we judge them by their looks, clothes, color, etc... Now, I am digressing...

I am sure there will be some mistakes and books will have to be placed in a different area of the library... stay tuned...

If you have read this and you are the first person to come to Mrs. Boccuzzi-Reichert to tell her not to judge a book by its cover - you will receive an ice cream coupon.
